Garden Design and Landscaping “College Glen”

Berkhamsted

Garden design and landscaping Berkhamsted. Inspired by the beautiful gardens adorned in France the client sort the professional garden design and landscaping services from John Lewis Home Solutions.

Design

Honed sandstone selected for its rustic charm to weather naturally whilst designed in a semi-formal pattern. The functional path sweeps through space and you have to step through the planting scheme which softens through the design.

Furthermore, Plenty of lavender in the raised planter nearer to the house, an essential plant that continues to produce a beautiful rich herby scent for most of the year. Lavender is also an essential plant to ward away mosquitos, bugs and moths… it does attract the all-important pollinators and we all love bees…

The large chunks of timber that were hand-selected for grain and rustic texture will soon weather to that charming grey that wood always does outside. A creative balance of colours and textures between the timber and the stone paving… all brought together with the plethora of planting.

A sensibly sized decking platform sits at the rear of the garden, simple in its design and essential in its form. Siberian Larch, no need to oil as it can be left to silver down and will soon be a garden companion to the raised timber planters.

Further, some 24 tonnes of landscaping excavation and materials were used in this scheme, with the total duration on site was 2 weeks.

The planting scheme

Low maintenance is always a request, we didn’t stray too far from the brief. The colour scheme was an essential mix of purples and whites, scent and structure.
